ovarian expression of sox2 during mouse estrous cycle
Authors
abstract
the transcriptional factor sox2 regulates the expression of some of the developmental genes, which are essential for the maintenance of pluripotency of stem cells. sox2 also expresses in the female gamete during folliculogenesis, but its role remains ambiguous. the aim of this study was to investigate the expression of sox2 in the mice ovarian tissue during different stage of estrous cycle. adult national medical research institute (nmri) mice were considered as pro-estrous, estrous, met-estrous and di-estrous based on the cell type of the vaginal smear. immunohistochemical staining of sox2 marker was performed in mice ovarian tissue. immunohistochemical staining revealed the expression of sox2 in the cytoplasm of corpus luteum cells, stromal cells and oocyte. our results suggest that adult mice ovaries accommodate cells carrying stem cell features.

Expression of pluripotent stem cell markers in mouse uterine tissue during estrous cycle
It was assumed that uterine stem cells are responsible for the unique regenerative capacity of uterine. Therefore, the aim of the present study was to investigate the expression of the pluripotent stem cell markers in the mice uterine tissue during different stages of estrous cycles. Twelve virgin female NMRI mice (6 to 8 weeks old) were considered at proestrus, estrus, metestrus and diestrus a...
full textChanges in the expression of OCT4 in mouse ovary during estrous cycle
The transcriptional factor OCT4 regulates pluripotency of stem cells and has an important role during oocyte growth. Whereas, its role has remained ambiguous in ovarian tissue during reproductive cycle. Therefore, this study was aimed to investigate the expression patterns of OCT4 in mouse ovaries during the normal estrous cycle. Adult National Medical Research Institute mice were classified as...
full textP-92: Assessment of Stem Cells in Adult Mouse Ovaries during Estrous Cycle
Background: The concepts of reproductive biology were changed by stating the ovarian reserve in postnatal mammalian females is replenished. The aim of this study was to investigate the expression of OCT4 in the mice ovarian tissue during different stages of mouse estrous cycle. Materials and Methods: The mice were considered as pro-estrous, estrous, met-estrous and di-estrous based on the cell ...

Ovarian steroids regulate 24p3 expression in mouse uterus during the natural estrous cycle and the preimplantation period.
We examined 24p3 expression in the mouse uterus at various stages of the natural estrous cycle and during the preimplantation period. The level of 24p3 mRNA appeared intensively in proestrus and estrus, then declined sharply from metestrus to diestrus. Consistent with this observation, 24p3 protein was abundant in proestrus, decreased from estrus to metestrus and declined to a very low level in...
